Welcome to Grand Terrace Career Center (located in the portables in P802 near the gym)

A Career Readiness Specialist provides career guidance, recruitment, and assessment services on the GTHS campus that CRY-ROP serves. They provide information on our programs and are your go-to people for career planning and support. Your Career Readiness Specialist will help you research your options for after high school based on your interests and goals, while they assist you with developing career, education and job search skills.

We provide resources for career, college, scholarships, military, apprentice/trade schools and other opportunities for students to explore what is available to them on their road to success.

CRY-ROP provides quality, hands-on career training programs in high-demand career fields to assist high school students in acquiring marketable job skills.

California Career Cafe is a free website that provides career information, networking tools, and career assessments / worksheets to identify uniques strengths, talents & styles. ROP Career Express Online

We offer Career Express Online FREE to students

Students can sign up for online classes, with permission from counseling/parents, they will be able to work independently and at their own pace.

These classes are offered three times a year:

ROP Explorers Club

Come and explore career paths in the disciplines of Fire, Police, Military and EMS, through hands-on training and events. Meet industry professionals and start building your resumes and professional relationships in your chosen industry by; participating in community events, workshops, guest speakers, in and around GTHS and the City of Grand Terrace and surrounding communities.

Must have at least a 2.0 GPA
Must be dedicated and have an interest in one of the four disciplines
Must be team oriented
Must have a positive nurturing attitude
Must be able to work with the public

Some trainings and events are on weekends, but will be announced ahead of time, when there are community service events.

ROP Scholarships

CRY-ROP Foundation Scholarships are funded by various business contributors, CRY-ROP employees and fundraising events. The recipients for these scholarships are selected by the CRY-ROP Scholarship Committee. Each scholarship has its own guidelines, eligibility requirements, and selection criteria. Scholarships are offered to all students twice a year in the fall and spring.

Scholarship Eligibility:

All Senior ROP students enrolled in an ROP class within the past 12 months.
ROP Teacher Recommendation
Must have a B or better

ROP Student Ambassador Program

The Student Ambassador program promotes leadership development in students. Each year, CRY-ROP offers workshop sessions for ROP Student Ambassadors to provide an orientation and tour of ROP programs. By providing students with this information, they are able to promote ROP and other post-secondary endeavors on their campuses, while developing their own leadership skills.

ROP Student Ambassador activities include:

Visiting middle schools to talk to students
Providing assistance at Career Fairs/Mock interviews/Class presentations
Developing promotional material/videos for open house, back-to-school night or career centers
E-Portfolios, Soft Skills Certifications and Resume to be completed
Participating in Leadership Summit/ CJUSD Career Fair

How to Earn College Credits

Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program (CRY-ROP)

As a student, you have the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school by successfully completing what’s called “articulated” CRY-ROP programs. This means that when you apply to a participating community college, you won’t have to retake a program that you’ve already taken through CRY-ROP! This saves you time and money.

Articulation is a process that allows high school students to receive a letter grade and community college credits for CRY-ROP programs. The credits appear on a college transcript with the same letter grade you receive in your CRY-ROP program. For example, if you receive a grade of “A” in your articulated CRY-ROP program, your college transcript will show the grade of “A” next to the articulated community college course.

Active articulation agreements must be in place between CRY-ROP and a participating community college at the time that you were enrolled in the program. In order to receive college credit for an articulated CRY-ROP program, you must:
